Cherokee County, Georgia officials are searching for a hit-and-run big truck driver involved in a Metro Atlanta tractor trailer crash. The early morning crash happened on I-75 near Woodstock Road around 5:15 on Thursday February 25, 2021. Cherokee County officials say the driver of the tractor trailer was traveling in the middle lane of interstate 75. The big truck left the middle lane and struck a 2000 Honda Accord in the far right lane of I-75. The impact caused the driver of the Honda to lose control and hit a tree. Investigators say two people were inside the car at the time of the crash. The driver and passenger suffered serious injuries as a result of the tractor trailer crash. First responders transported both victims to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Investigators say, the tractor trailer driver fled the scene.
